As florists, we see the shape of flowers in everything and thought we were seeing things when we came across some awesome flower-shaped buildings. This inspired us to gather up more images of amazing architectural buildings that were designed to look like a flower. Take a look at some of the below buildings and be prepared to be blown away.

Like a Lotus Blossom spinning on the surface of the water, the ArtScience museum in Singapore floats above the ground with radiating pedals of differing Heights bringing a little bit of beautiful nature into the urban landscape. a striking building that curves upward seamlessly, the structure also has a lot of sustainable and energy-efficient qualities. The tip of every petal has rectangular skylights so natural sunlight to illuminate the art galleries within. The very center of the flower has an oculus where rainwater pours down into a waterfall that goes all the way through the center of the building to the bottom level where it empties into a reflection pool. The water is then recycled to create a continuous waterfall loop as well as provide water to the restrooms and the exterior landscape. The base of the structure is located underneath the ground which allows for the upper flower section to appear weightless and floating.

Also shaped like a Lotus Blossom, Lotus Temple in Delhi Highlights the symmetry of this flower and its beauty a work of art in an homage to Nature and the Creator. perfectly symmetrical from all angles, there are three rows of leaves rich and circle and interior dome. the lower level of leaves curved outwards creating a canopy rooftop over each of the nine entrances. surrounding the structure in front of each entrance are reflection pools. these pools of water not only provide cool air to the interior of the building also give the illusion that this concrete flower is floating on water. within the building there’s no decoration aside from the light and shade from the Sun and reflection of the water. Open to all faiths and all religions Lotus Temple is one of the most visited religious sites in the world

Probably rising up from the land facing the Sun the move on Energy building it’s an example of sustainable architecture and new energy sources. The design is inspired by the calla lily an elegant and Majestic flower. the circular roof is covered with solar panels so that it soaks up the sun’s energy. Also being tilted at an angle allows the roof to provide shade to the office buildings in the tower underneath during the hottest days of summer in China. the rooftop is also chalice-shaped and catches all of the Rainwater to recycle it throughout the building to be used in the restrooms and for watering the rooftop garden on the 17th floor. the giant pistol houses wind turbines which is another alternative energy source utilized by the building. remove on energy flour as zero carbon emissions is one of the most energy efficient and sustainable buildings in the world.

When coming across Motisons Tower, you can’t help but be stunned by the enormous colorful leaves that are sprouting out of the rectangular base. Three large lotus leaves rise up into the sky from each side of the building. The rich jewel tones of the leaves rimmed in gold are striking. For the real spectacle and magic of this building you will have to wait until night time. That is when the Lotus leaves come to life with bright LED pulsating colors that change every few minutes. It is a structural marvel and a wonderful example of what modern architecture can do.
